CHOCOLATE ALERGY AND SYMPTOMS OF CHOCOLATE ALERGIES

Like many other food elements, several types of chocolates have also been reported to have caused allergic reactions in some typical cases. Some of the more commonly found food products that may usually develop allergic reactions, include: Chocolate, wheat products, sulphites, certain dairy products, strawberries, shellfish as well as eggs.

Chocolates are prepared with some these ingredients hence may cause some allergic reactions to someone who is allergic to any of such products. Here eggs could be the allergen as when the eggs reach the stomach or the intestines, body notice its presence as an allergen and sends immunoglobulin E – IgE which is the antibody that wipes out eggs and guards body by discharging histamines.

Such histamines activate the allergic symptoms that affect many areas of the body.
