Almonds are more widely quoted as the tree nuts, even if the
almonds belong to the family of Rosaceae, for instance: apple, peach
and apricot. Thus the almonds are incorporated in the Alimentarius
list of allergens that should be clearly mentioned on the product
labels or label claims of the pre-packed food products.
Usually the almonds are reported to be used in different forms
such as: whole, chopped, sliced or paste form, mostly in the most of
the bakery products including cookies, cakes and pies; besides
certain confectionary products.
The gourmet edible oils are being derived from the almonds and
are believed to be probably containing certain left over allergens.
Alergy and symptom to the tree nuts or seeds may have the severer
tendency that may generate life-threatening or fatal reactions.
